Extremely happy with the speed, temp, and power draw of this processor. Seems to match the benchmarks of the 3770k (when that one isn't overclocked...). I even liked the stock CPU fan enough to use it instead of a aftermarket cooler (a first for me).

Prior to buying this I had a first gen Pentium D dual core, needless to say it was night and day. The Windows Experience Index (WEI) for this CPU is a 7.8 for me under stock settings. I put it in a computer I built for multiple purposes, primarily gaming and for use in my home music studio. So far it has worked great in both applications. I recommend pairing the i7 with a Z77 chipset motherboard, and a lot of good fast RAM. I have a Cooler Master V6 GT cooler and used arctic silver 5, under normal operation it runs between 20-30C and I don't think I've ever seen it go above 40C under heavy gaming on ultra high settings. All in all, it works great for what I ask of it, and I'm very happy I decided to get an i7 instead of an i5.
